Augusto Novaro Vega (August 1st, 1918 - April 14th, 1986), better known simply as Tito Novaro, was a Mexican film actor, screenwriter, and director. He entered the industry in 1936 as an extra and developed a long career largely in supporting and ensemble roles while also writing story treatments and screenplays in the 1940s - 1950s, later working as an assistant director. He moved into directing in the early 1960s, initially in co-direction, and made his solo directorial debut with “El dilema,” a segment of the anthology feature Trampas de amor. From the 1970s through the mid-1980s he directed a cycle of popular genre and melodrama features - often combining directing with writing or adaptation - including El robo de las momias de Guanajuato, El castillo de las momias de Guanajuato, and La hija de nadie, culminating in late-career films such as Lazos de sangre and El último disparo.
