A cobbler is taken on as a cleaner at a circus, recommended by the beautiful bareback rider in the show. The job looks simple enough, but he soon finds himself inside the performance itself: minding the elephant, the trapeze, dangerous stunts. He can do none of it and attempts all of it. The reason is obvious: he is prepared to risk his neck to impress the girl. Miguel M. Delgado directs, with Cantinflas in the lead. Cantinflas is the best known comic in Mexican cinema, and he made permanent the figure of the poor, fast-talking neighbourhood man who talks his way out of everything. A typical piece of 1940s Mexican comedy.
