Cantinflas plays a schoolteacher. A small town in the middle of nowhere asks for one and he volunteers. On arrival he runs into the men who run the place for their own benefit, who do not want the school improved and try everything to push him out. The teacher takes the children and their circumstances seriously, and settles problems as always, by talking. Miguel M. Delgado directed. Close to two hours. This is late Cantinflas: less comedy, more moral instruction. It takes poverty and the absence of schooling as its direct subject.
