Alejandro Ciangherotti What Up and Down Is About
Cantinflas gets a job at a sporting goods shop and from then on tangles everything he touches. Mistaken identity, a lift and a holiday in Acapulco run into one another. Source summaries describe the character as stupid; the Cantinflas figure is not stupid but someone who talks his way out of every situation, and that is exactly where the comedy comes from. Miguel M. Delgado directed. The story is thin and the scenes are loosely strung together; for people who already like him rather than an introduction.
