Atom Egoyan

Peter Matthews passes a sharp judgement on him in 2002: alone among contemporary directors, he writes, Atom Egoyan has turned a rigid schematism into a style. In the same magazine in 1998 Richard Kelly, describing another film altogether, speaks of the worked sterility of early Egoyan. The three items on the awards side are written to films: Spirit nominated Exotica in its foreign film category in 1996 and gave that category's award to The Sweet Hereafter in 1998, while the Italian academy made Remember a foreign film nominee in 2016. The facts attached to the person come from criticism, then, and the awards arrive at the level of the film. Ten works stand here, and on one of them he is not the director.
