Bahman Ghobadi

Bahman Ghobadi directed six of his eight entries here, and the eight fit between 1999 and 2015. A special mention came from the youth jury of the 2005 Berlinale to Turtles Can Fly, which he directed; the item is recorded against the film, his name standing on its director line. That film also leads his entries on votes, at 240. The two he did not direct are Abbas Kiarostami's The Wind Will Carry Us and Samira Makhmalbaf's Blackboards. Four of his own six have no Turkish title at all and stand in Kurdish or Persian script. Five of the eight gather between 2000 and 2006.
