A film that tells one evening from five different points of view. In a small town, at fourteen minutes past eleven, an accident happens. The film shows the roads to that moment separately: teenagers in a van, a girl working in a shop and her friend, a man driving, a father and daughter, and something happening in a cemetery. The sections move back and forth in time. A small detail seen in the background of one scene returns in the next as the cause of everything. The structure is built like a puzzle and the information is deliberately given out of order. The tone is strange too: the events are tragic while the telling stays close to black comedy. Nobody has good intentions, everyone is trying to keep their own small lie going, and precisely because of that everything gets worse. Greg Marcks's first film. Hilary Swank, Rachael Leigh Cook, Ben Foster and Patrick Swayze are in the cast. It did not find wide distribution in America and became known largely on home video. A tightly built example for anyone who likes intersecting narratives and games with time. For a viewer looking for depth of character, the film is interested in the mechanism; the people stand as parts of the structure.
