What 14 Days to Life Is About
Konrad von Seidlitz, a young lawyer more than pleased with himself, is engaged to the daughter of the minister of justice. For the sake of publicity he has left his parking fines unpaid for two years and then insisted on serving two weeks in prison for it. Inside he uses what he knows of the law to go on working, keeps his good mood and obeys no rule at all, which brings him both the attention he wanted and enemies. One day before his release his cell is searched and two hundred grams of cocaine are found. At that point being innocent is not enough on its own. Kai Wiesinger and Michael Mendl appear in Roland Suso Richter’s hundred and five minute film, completed in 1997.
