What 96 Is About
Ram is a photographer who travels the country shooting landscapes and is attached to nobody. Passing through his home town he walks into his old school, and the past lands on him all at once: the class of ninety-six is holding a reunion, and Janu comes. What they could not say to each other twenty years ago is still standing there, except she is married now. The film covers one night, and is about what did not happen rather than what did. Prem Kumar is in no hurry at all.
