A Long Journey

The film is set in the poor neighbourhoods of Santiago. A family’s newborn baby dies. A wake is held. At the wake cardboard wings had been fixed to the baby’s back. But the wings go missing afterwards. The baby’s elder brother is left behind. The boy decides to find the wings and take them back. For he believes his brother can fly to heaven. With that belief he walks the city from end to end. The road puts him among different people. The account is built on that walk. Enrique Luis Kaulen Downey and Eliana Vidal take the leads, with Fabio Zerpa and Emilio Gaete also in the cast, in Patricio Kaulen’s Argentine and Chilean coproduction of 1967.
