What A Raisin in the Sun Is About

Five people share a small Chicago apartment: Walter Lee, his wife, their son, his sister and his mother. When the insurance money from his father's death arrives, each of them has a different plan for it, and the family splits. Lena puts most of it down on a house in a mostly white neighbourhood, and before they move a man comes to the door offering to buy them out. Hansberry adapted her own play. The title comes from a Langston Hughes poem about a deferred dream.
