Maartje Remmers What A Thousand Kisses Is About
Giph, a rising and largely autobiographical novelist, appears to have things going well; his girlfriend Samarinde is a doctor and a model. But his mother Ria is fighting an incurable illness and in the end chooses euthanasia. Giph struggles to handle it, and shortly after her death escapes to La Palma on holiday with his friends, where Samarinde tells him she is pregnant. Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen fits a death and a birth into the same season and shows that grief mostly arrives late.
