What A Wonderful Night in Split Is About
The film takes place on a single New Year’s Eve in the Croatian port city of Split and runs three stories that touch one another. In the first there is a small time drug dealer and a young widow; in the second a woman with an addiction agrees to be with a sailor from the American navy in exchange for heroin; in the third a young couple walks the city looking for a place to spend the night. The stories are tied together by a concert and by the fireworks that fill the sky. In the account the holiday night is not a celebration but a stretch of time in which everyone is left alone with their own dead end. Coolio appears in Arsen Anton Ostojic’s hundred minute Croatian film, completed in 2004.
