A man kills his wife when she notices the interest he has taken in her sister. He then sets about approaching the sister and works to break up her marriage; the suspicion of her fiance changes things. The film shows the man’s calculation to the viewer from the start and draws its tension from who knows what. The account uses a mould often seen in Tamil cinema of the nineties, but at no point gives its sympathy to the side doing harm; what the woman under threat sees, and whom she can get to believe her, stands at the centre. Ajith Kumar, Suvalakshmi and Prakash Raj appear in Vasanth’s hundred and fifty seven minute Tamil film, completed in 1995.
