All About Our House

A newly married couple decide to have a house built. They give the design work to a friend. The man is called Yanagisawa. But Yanagisawa is not licensed for the job. So they call in the wife’s father. The father is a retired carpenter. The man wants to do the work by traditional methods. Yanagisawa for his part has designed a modern house. The two sides clash over everything. Materials, measurements and layout all become matters of dispute. The couple are caught in the middle. As the building goes up the job gets more tangled. Everyone tries to do it their own way. Toshiaki Karasawa and Kunie Tanaka take the leads in Koki Mitani’s Japanese film of 2001.
