What All Our Desires Is About

Claire is a young judge in Lyon who cannot let go of one file: a woman buried under revolving consumer credit, in a case the law seems built to lose. Around the same time she is told she has an inoperable brain tumour. Telling nobody, she goes to Stéphane, a senior colleague long since worn down by the job, and the two of them start hunting for the flaw in the lenders' contracts. Philippe Lioret adapted it very loosely from Emmanuel Carrère's D'autres vies que la mienne, and it turns on the odd steadiness of two people working a technical problem while one of them runs out of time. Marie Gillain and Vincent Lindon star.
