All the Way Boys

Two pilots, Plata and Salud, are scraping a living in South America. Their plane is a wreck, their work is uncertain and they are in debt. Hearing that a plane down in the Andes holds valuable cargo, they go after it. Others want the same cargo. The film is not interested in adventure. It is interested in two men who cannot stand each other: across the film they fight, blame each other and still do not part. Every Terence Hill and Bud Spencer film is built on that relationship, and it is the engine here too. The form is road and action comedy: flying sequences, mountains, brawls and the punch sound effects peculiar to the period. The dubbing and the rhythm carry half the comedy. Giuseppe Colizzi directed. He was the director who first put the pair together, and this is from their early work; an attempt at a story set in the present, outside the western. Who it is for: viewers who like the Hill and Spencer pairing and seventies Italian action comedy. Who it is not for: anyone looking for a story. The plot is a pretext, the pace is low and the film sags between the fights.
