Anuradha

Anuradha is a well known singer. She sings on the radio and dances on stage. One day she meets a doctor named Nirmal. He is an idealist and wants to work in a village. The two fall in love and marry. Anuradha gives up singing and goes to the village with him. Nirmal gives himself over entirely to his work. He sets out at any hour for his patients. Anuradha is left alone at home. She begins to regret the choice she made. A former lover of hers turns up in the village after an accident. His arrival brings her past back to life. He urges her to return to her profession. Around then a well known doctor comes to the village. He sees what Anuradha has sacrificed and says so. Those words reconcile her with the life she has. Balraj Sahni and Leela Naidu appear in the hundred and forty one minute film, an Indian production Hrishikesh Mukherjee finished in 1960.
