What At the Edge of the World Is About
The documentary follows the contested Sea Shepherd campaign in the Antarctic against a Japanese whaling fleet. The volunteer crew are undertrained and underequipped, and they work out a mixture of strange and clever tactics for stopping the whalers. But first they have to find the ships, and across the expanse of the Ross Sea that turns out to be far harder than anyone thought. One of their vessels is too slow to run the fleet down, the other is not built for Antarctic ice, and no country stands behind what they are doing. The ninety seven minute documentary by Dan Stone and Patrick Gambuti Jr. was completed in 2008.
