What At the End of the Rainbow Is About
Roy escapes from the labour camp at Santa Lucia together with Emiliano, a New Mexico rancher imprisoned as unjustly as he was. The two were put there by three powerful American bankers who want to seize the old man’s gold mine. During the escape the rancher dies, and with his last words he asks Roy to take the mine back and to protect Jessica, the daughter of his former foreman. What follows is built on whether that promise will be kept. The story runs along the familiar line of anger and revenge in the Italian western, and it names the people holding the money openly. Fabio Testi and Eduardo Fajardo appear in Aldo Florio’s hundred and five minute Italian film, completed in 1971.
