Senna Hegde's 2025 Malayalam film opens with a drunk man's encounter one night. What he says the next morning passes from hand to hand through the town, and as the gossip grows a woman's past comes close to being exposed. The subject is how rumour works. Something is added to the story at every retelling; rather than tie it to a single truth, the narrative keeps it running as different versions from different mouths. Hegde is known for filming small Kerala towns with tight crews and unknown performers, and this works the same way. The humour is dry, the playing natural and the dialogue in local speech. Who it's for: those who like small-scale Malayalam town comedy. Who it's not for: viewers uncomfortable with a woman's privacy made material for town gossip; the film criticises this but shows it scene by scene.
