Awake, a Dream from Standing Rock

At Standing Rock a resistance began against a pipeline project. Native communities led it. They called themselves water protectors. The issue was the risk of the drinking water being contaminated. The camp held for months. The camp drew the attention of the world. The resistance was carried on peacefully. Police forces were sent against them. The documentary was filmed from inside that process. The camera takes in the daily life of the camp as well. One of the directors is a Native journalist. The film stands on the side of the resistance and does not hide it. It should be watched as a work of advocacy. Water protectors from the camp speak in the eighty four minute documentary, an American production Josh Fox, James Spione and Myron Dewey finished in 2017.
