What B-Happy Is About
Kathy is a girl of fourteen. She lives in a run down house near Valparaíso. Her mother keeps the house going by working. She also has an older brother, and there is always friction between them. Her father spent a long time in prison. Now he is out and wants to come back. The mother cannot decide whether to let him in. Kathy says she is afraid of nothing. But the order around her is coming apart. One by one the family drifts away. The girl is left on her own. To stay on her feet she uses her own wits. Manuela Martelli and Eduardo Barril take the leads, with Lorene Prieto also in the cast, in Gonzalo Justiniano’s Chilean, Venezuelan and Spanish coproduction of 2004.
