Baby Love

Emmanuel and Philippe have been together for years and look, from outside, like the perfect couple. But Emmanuel wants a child and Philippe does not. One day Emmanuel decides to go ahead alone, knowing he may lose the relationship over it. Then comes the practical part: how does a gay man in France actually have a child? He tries routes, meets people, makes arrangements, and hits a wall every time. Vincent Garenq directs, with Lambert Wilson as Emmanuel. The film neither dramatises the subject nor turns it into a slogan; it goes through the obstacles put up by the law and by daily life one at a time, without losing its comic register.
