What Back in Crime Is About
Inspector Richard Kemp has been after the same serial killer for twenty years, a man who cuts his victims' eardrums and has never been caught. A new murder happens; Hélène, a psychologist, witnesses it and offers to testify. Kemp falls for her on sight. Then something he cannot explain occurs: he finds himself twenty years earlier, on the day of the killer's first murder. Which means a chance to do the whole thing again. Germinal Alvarez directs, with Jean-Hugues Anglade as Kemp and Mélanie Thierry as Hélène. It runs a detective story and time travel together. Its real question is whether changing the past actually repairs anything.
