Balas & Bolinhos: O Regresso

A group of friends comes back together after years apart. A treasure map passes between them and they decide to set out as a group. Nothing that can go wrong on the Portuguese roads fails to happen to them: misunderstandings, chases, and the abuse they throw at each other. None of them knows exactly what they are looking for either. Luís Ismael directed the film as a sequel to the first Balas & Bolinhos, which he made in 2001. It was produced without state support on a very small budget and still drew an unexpected audience in Portuguese cinemas. Ismael also acts in his own film. The humour is entirely local, built on accent, slang and jokes about being young.
