What Beast Stalker Is About
Sergeant Tong, who caused the death of a small girl with a shot fired while arresting a criminal, cannot put himself back together afterwards. When the other daughter of the same family is kidnapped in an attempt to get the man released, Tong makes finding her his own business. Dante Lam builds the policeman and the criminal as mirrors of each other: the kidnapper has his own story and his own desperation. The action is hard and cleanly cut, but what holds the film up is guilt. Nick Cheung won Hong Kong's best actor award for playing the kidnapper.
