What Beauty and the Dogs Is About

Leaving a student party, young Mariam is raped by police officers. The Turkish promotional text does not say this at all, describing only a woman wandering the streets in shock, when the identity of the attackers is the entire point. The institution she would report it to is the institution that did it, and the whole night passes between a hospital and a police station as she fights for her papers and her medical report. Kaouther Ben Hania shot it in nine long takes with almost no cutting. It comes from a real case in Tunisia that caused a national argument.
