What Behind Closed Doors Is About
Anton, a fireman, picks up his fourteen-year-old daughter Kira from her dance class every Saturday; television, dumplings for dinner, as much of a weekend as a separated father can give. That day Kira rings the entryphone, Anton opens the door, and she never comes up to the flat. To find her he has to start knocking on the doors of his neighbours in the same concrete block, and that is where the real subject begins: getting past indifference and past grievances nobody has settled. Anton Maslov directed; this was his first feature, and his later film Off the Rails is also in this catalogue. Denis Nikiforov leads and Darya Shcherbakova plays Kira. It opened on 24 February 2022.
