What Bellman and True Is About

Hiller, a computer man, once took money to obtain the details of the security system in a newly built bank, and thought that was the last he would see of the people who paid him. Now they have found him in London, with his boy. They take the child hostage, make Hiller decode the alarm system, and then insist he come along on the robbery itself. Richard Loncraine adapted Desmond Lowden’s novel and runs it less as a heist than as the story of a frightened man. Bernard Hill’s nervous, unheroic performance sits at the centre of it.
