What Seance on a Wet Afternoon Is About

Myra is a housewife in London who has declared herself a medium and holds seances in her front room. Her husband Billy, asthmatic and out of work, is the hidden assistant. To make herself credible, Myra builds an impossible plan: they will abduct a wealthy family's small daughter, and then she will tell the police where the girl is by psychic means. The plan is rotten from the start. Bryan Forbes directed; Kim Stanley was Oscar-nominated for the role and Richard Attenborough plays the husband. A dead child, mental illness and an abducted child are all in it.
