Best of Times

The vet Keng hopes his friendship with Fai will turn into love. But he learns that Fai still holds feelings for her former husband. That former husband, moreover, is Keng’s closest friend. This triangle makes up one thread of the film. The account does not treat love as a matter for the young alone; it looks at the tension between remembering and forgetting. The Thai title of the film sets the shortness of memory beside the length of love. How far bonds that change with time can be turned back is the real question. Arak Amornsupasiri and Yarinda Bunnag appear in Yongyoot Thongkongtoon’s hundred and seventeen minute Thai film, completed in 2009.
