Two Hearts As One

Yunus and Dilek leave a comfortable life in Turkey and go to Kazakhstan to open a school. Conditions there are far harder than Dilek expected and she feels alone. At that point the account opens into a second story. During the Second World War, Niyaz and Cennet, from among the Turks of the North Caucasus, are newly married when the war separates them. As they part they make a promise to each other: Cennet will wait to the end and Niyaz will come back whatever happens. Cennet’s story reminds Dilek why she made her own choice. The film ties two periods together through one idea: the keeping of a promise. Atılgan Gümüş and Yağmur Kaşifoğlu appear in Hasan Kiraç’s hundred and twenty six minute Turkish film, completed in 2014.
