What Boleiros: Era uma Vez o Futebol... Is About
A group of former footballers meets in a bar in Sao Paulo and tells stories of their best days. The matches, the goals and the fights grow a little with each retelling, and who did what becomes a matter of dispute over time. The film shows this not as an error but as the way football lives on in speech. The real subject of the account is not the game on the pitch but the relation these men who have left the game keep with the present. It can also be read as a tribute to the place football holds in everyday life in Brazil. Flavio Migliaccio appears in Ugo Giorgetti’s ninety seven minute Brazilian film, completed in 1998.
