Braguino

In the middle of the Siberian taiga, four hundred and fifty miles from the nearest village, two families live: the Braguines and the Kilines. No road goes there. You reach it by a long trip up the Yenisei by boat and then by helicopter. Both households are self sufficient and live by rules of their own, there is a barrier through the middle of the settlement, and they do not speak. Out in the river is an island where a third community is forming, the children's, free and unpredictable and wild. In forty nine minutes Clément Cogitore never tries to explain where the feud came from. He shows instead how fear draws the map, putting the fear of animals and the fear of the neighbour in the same frame.
