What Brass Knuckle Boys Is About
Kanna, who works at a record company, stumbles on a punk band called Shonen Meriken Sakku online and decides to sign them for her employer. What she does not know is that the recording is decades old and the members are now middle aged men. From there it becomes a comeback comedy, though it never softens the nostalgia: the fights of their youth are still there, and so is the fact that those fights were never settled. The film ties the present to the band's early days through mock documentary talking heads. It was written and directed by Kankuro Kudo, and it is usually described as Aoi Miyazaki's first outright comic lead.
