What Bravissimo Is About
Impallato is a teacher taking classes for boys in a poor suburb, a man nobody knows the name of. He hears the voice of one of the boys and is astonished: a baritone is coming out of a small body. He sees an opportunity in it and decides to put the boy on stage. Before long money, management and the calculations of adults get into it. Alberto Sordi takes the lead in Luigi Filippo D'Amico's comedy. Sordi plays one of the types from early in his career here: the classic average man of Italian comedy, apparently well meaning but keeping an eye on his own interest. The film looks at the business of manufacturing a child star and gives it not as a success story but as something slightly bitter.
