What Break Every Chain Is About
Jonathan is a police officer. He lost his father as a small boy, has seen countless scenes of death on duty, and in the end lost his son as well. Depression, anger and drink cut him off from the people around him step by step. With what is left of his family about to go too, he looks for a way out and turns to faith. Tim Searfoss's film is based on a true story and is openly built on Christian faith; it does not hide its purpose. Dean Cain is in the cast. The telling takes up post-traumatic stress and the mental health of police officers, a subject cinema rarely handles. The film's resolution is faith; for a viewer not expecting that, the tone may come across as very direct.
