He does not want money; he wants the situation reported. Abi Damaris Corbin made it from the real case and tells it not as a hostage thriller but as an account of a man rendered invisible by an institution. John Boyega plays him without ever raising the register: polite, apologetic, frightened. Michael Kenneth Williams plays the negotiator in one of his last roles. The ending is left exactly as it happened, which leaves the audience precisely where it should be. Who it is for: viewers who like true single-location thrillers and social criticism. Who it is not for: anyone expecting action, since this is almost entirely phone calls.
