What Broadway Damage Is About
Marc is a struggling actor in New York who finds an apartment by reading the obituaries, and he lives with Cynthia, his out of work and thoroughly eccentric friend. His best friend Robert has been quietly in love with him for a long time, while Marc falls hard for David, a flighty studio musician, and settles in to wait by the phone. Cynthia loses the financial support of her wealthy parents and Robert keeps trying to work up the nerve to say what he feels, so all three of them end up waiting on somebody in the same apartment. The film handles the mess and the tiredness of looking for real love as a romantic comedy set in the gay community. Victor Mignatti wrote and directed the independent American production, which opened on 26 August 1997.
