Bulbul Can Sing

Bulbul lives in a village in Assam. She is in her teens. She spends her days with two friends. One is Bonny, who has a boyfriend of her own. The other is Suman. Suman is mocked at school. The reason is that he does not behave the way boys are expected to. The two girls stand by him. The three of them are close. Then something happens in the village. A group of men single the young people out, and a public shaming grows into something far worse. Bulbul learns what it costs, in a film about where adolescence stands inside a community. Arnali Das and Manoranjan Das appear in the ninety five minute film, an Indian production Rima Das finished in 2019.
