Burnt Money

In Buenos Aires in 1965 an armoured car is robbed, and two men in the crew, Nene and Cuervo, are bound to each other; the others call them the twins. The robbery ends in blood and the pair escape to Montevideo with the money. They hide in a flat for months and eventually the police surround the building. Marcelo Piñeyro adapted Ricardo Piglia's novel, based on a real event: the siege lasted fifteen hours and rather than surrender the men burned every note. The film leaves the relationship between them as it is, without explanation. Leonardo Sbaraglia and Eduardo Noriega star. It won a Goya in Argentina. Who it is for: viewers who like Latin American crime films and queer stories. Who it is not for: anyone troubled by hard violence and drug use.
