Cenizas del paraíso

A judge falls from the roof of the Federal Courthouse and dies. In the same days a young woman is found murdered. A woman judge who believes the two are connected takes on the investigation. The dead man had three sons, and all three knew the same woman. All three are ready to take the blame. Marcelo Piñeyro's Argentine film does not tell the events on a single timeline; it builds the same night over and over out of different people's statements. Héctor Alterio, Cecilia Roth and Leonardo Sbaraglia are in the cast. The telling brings in the tie between the judiciary and politics as well. The film was submitted as Argentina's Oscar entry.
