Burzynski, the Movie

Stanislaw Burzynski is a doctor working in Houston. In the nineteen seventies he worked on a group of compounds. He called them antineoplastons. He argued they could be used against cancer. The documentary tells his story. A long legal fight sits at the centre of it. On the other side is the American food and drug agency. The film presents that fight as an injustice. The situation is not only that. Antineoplastons have never been approved for general use. Their effectiveness has not been shown by independent studies. The compounds are administered only within clinical trials. The treatment carries serious side effects. The documentary gives no room to these objections. It was criticised as one sided for that reason. The hundred and five minute film is an American production Eric Merola finished in 2010.
