Cabin Fever

A large extended family sets out for Christmas. They are going to a rented cabin in the mountains. Everyone is expecting a good holiday. There are the parents, four grown children and their families. In laws from Poland are with them too. There is a dog as well. The cabin is small for a crowd like this. Outside the temperature is thirty below. Nobody can go out. Inside they are on top of one another. The first day passes politely. Then the old matters are opened up. Small frictions grow. The resentments inside the family come out one by one. The film turns the festive face of Christmas inside out. Svein Scharffenberg and Gørild Mauseth appear in the hundred and two minute film, a Danish, Norwegian and Swedish co-production Mona J. Hoel finished in 2000.
