Çakal

Akin, who lives in one of the poorer districts of Istanbul, grew up with a father he did not love and a mother who was ill. Losing his mother changes him; he decides to build a new life with money taken from the carpentry workshop where he works. But his girlfriend Deniz does not answer the plan the way he hoped, and the tie between them breaks. Akin then accepts the offer his friend Idris from the neighbourhood has been making for a long time: to run errands for a criminal group. The film tells the reckonings of the district and how a young man is drawn into them. Ismail Hacioglu and Ugur Polat appear in Erhan Kozan’s Turkish film, completed in 2010.
