Four stories, one city. A dark comedy about crime as an ordinary condition of life in Mexico City: two friends smoking in a parked car who are caught by a corrupt judicial officer; a wealthy businesswoman kidnapped while her useless husband tries to raise the ransom; a university lecturer mistaken for a burglar and about to be lynched outside a church; and a hopeless thief attempting to rob a restaurant. Four directors made it together: Carlos Carrera, Alejandro Gamboa, Fernando Sariñana and Antonio Serrano. Each segment has its own hand, and the same premise underneath all of them, which is that crime here has stopped being an event and become something more like weather.
