What Chappa Kurishu Is About

Arjun, doing well in construction in Kochi, and Ansari, who lives in a slum and does odd jobs at a supermarket, have never met. The only thing connecting them is a mobile phone Arjun loses and Ansari finds, and what is on it changes both their lives in ways neither could have calculated. Sameer Thahir's first film as a director, made in 2011, was shot entirely on a Canon 7D stills camera. Its title means heads or tails. The plot sits close to the 2009 Korean film Handphone without being credited as a remake. What the film is really interested in is how the same object becomes two different weapons depending on which side of a class line you stand on.
