Sethumadhavan walks out of prison. He went in for killing a criminal named Keerikkadan Jose while defending his own life, and what waits for him outside is a neighbourhood where having served the sentence settles nothing. The harder he tries to build an ordinary life, the more insistently the past stands in front of him. Directed by Sibi Malayil and written by A. K. Lohithadas, the film is a sequel to Kireedam from 1989, with Mohanlal continuing in the same part and Thilakan again as his father, and with Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Surabhi also in the cast. Johnson wrote the score. It opened in December 1993 and runs two hours and forty three minutes.
