Cheyenne

The gambler James Wylie is caught by the law. He is given a choice: serve a prison sentence, or pose as a bandit and do a job. What is wanted is the identity of an outlaw known as the Poet. The man has been holding up bank owned stagecoaches. At the scene he leaves verses that taunt the authorities. Wylie takes the job and sets out. Along the way he tries to get close to Ann, the Poet’s wife, and at first she gives him the cold shoulder. Then something grows between them and they start looking for the robber together. Dennis Morgan and Jane Wyman appear in Raoul Walsh’s American film of 1947, ninety nine minutes long.
